I intend to travel to India this year and I want to know more information about the most visited destinations and prices for accommodation and transport. I read about these things this site www.goatraveltips.com , but I need more infos , like which is the safest means of transport in India.

Hey Aurelia81,
I don't have too much advice as I've never been to India however I have backpacked though the area (Most of SE Asia, Nepal etc). A few friends of mine have been to India and they mostly traveled by train/bus however it really depends on how much time you have there and how much you want to see. Goa is apparently gorgeous however if I were going (assuming you have around a month) I'd really try to see some of the cities as well. Taj Mahal is a must (obviously) however I'd also want to see Delhi (for the chaos) as well as Mumbai. Prices are cheap if you're willing to slum it a bit but clean facilities are definitely attainable for minimum $. Haggle but do it with a smile. Works much better than being a $!@$. ![]() A good book is the Lonely Planet books - http://www.lonelyplanet.com/india In my opinion worth the money for sure. Enjoy the trip! ![]() |
